A Perfect Storm Mom's POV on TFC's 3rd Birthday

Happy birthday, Tiffin Family Chiropractic. I could write forever about all the ways I’m grateful for you, but I’ll try to keep it brief (no promises).

When Tiffin Family Chiropractic came into my life, I was running myself ragged as a mom. The Lord had used 2023 to mold our family in ways beyond my wildest dreams. It was also the year that we dove deep into learning about my daughter’s body’s design to heal, and we fought for that for her. I had never heard of the nervous system and never considered fight or flight. All I knew was that her seizures were out of control (after we finally convinced doctors she was having seizures), we learned how sugar affects her brain, we learned that her gut needed healing, we tried an extremely limiting diet to try to help her heal, and we were EXHAUSTED. Because even with the medication, the stool tests, the diet changes and trying another well-known chiropractic office, nothing was changing. Her sensory struggles and behaviors were out of control and her seizures were not changing. Supplements gave her body some support, but we were so stressed about getting them into her body every day. My anxiety was sky high. Every day felt like survival.

My good friend from church had been there for us from the very beginning. She encouraged us when we were going through Juliana’s first open heart surgery when she was just a sweet two month old. My friend lifted us with love and prayer for years. When she told me that she thought TFC could help Juliana, I was really skeptical, because we had been to another chiropractor. She assured me that this was not the same type of care. Even though I wasn’t sure, I trusted my friend enough to accept her invitation to The Perfect Storm Workshop. That night, everything changed for our family. I’m so thankful for my friend and how she didn’t give up on me. That sweet friend, who you know and love if you are a part of our TFC family, her name is Sarah.

On February 22, 2024, a date I only know because Dr. Adam remembered, Juliana began care at TFC. We learned at the workshop that her body absolutely had to be stuck in fight or flight, considering all she had been through as a baby. After seeing her scans, that objective, concrete evidence of what was going on in her body, we knew we had to give TFC a shot. We had to give Juliana a chance to, at minimum, relax in her own body. We never would have dreamed that she would have 14 seizure-free months, that she would make better eye contact, that she would sit up taller, that she would willingly weight-bear, that she would gain incredible cognitive abilities, that she would be happier and more go-with-the-flow, that her days went from survival mode to actually enjoying time with her. Even now, we know that the first place she needs to go on a bad day is TFC. Tiffin Family Chiropractic is the only place that can truly help her when her body needs support. What a blessing and a comfort it is to have a safe and loving place of hope, help and true answers not only on the good days but the hard days as well.

I often wish we had TFC earlier in Juliana’s life. Tiffin Family Chiropractic is truly the most impactful office we’ve ever brought her to (and she’s been to LOTS of offices). In that same thought, I’m so grateful that we are here now. If it wasn’t for The Perfect Storm Workshop, we wouldn’t have learned that healing has to happen in order, and we have to start at the foundation: the nervous system.

We’ve seen first hand how prioritizing nervous system healing leads to healing in so many ways, because the nervous system runs every other system in the body. I also see what a blessing it is that I can now encourage other moms that if I could have started Juliana on care earlier, knowing what I know now, I would in a heartbeat. Prioritizing your child’s nervous system is something that you will never regret because it sets their bodies up for lives of abundant health and wellness. Their bodies are ready when sickness comes. They are able to regulate their emotions more calmly. They have better focus. They are happier. They are able to truly thrive the way they were designed to.

Thank you for making a place where our daughter feels special and safe, and where we truly feel loved like family. Thank you for giving our family real help and answers.
