From Torticollis Diagnosis to Thriving Milestones

We first met Carolyn in June 2023—just three days after she was born. She had experienced an intense entrance into the world. Positioned low in mama’s belly, her arm was alongside her head during delivery, creating a lot of tension in her neck. This positioning also caused some flatness on the right side of her head when she was born.
In her first days, Carolyn was struggling with breastfeeding and wouldn’t turn her head to the left. Soon after, she received a torticollis diagnosis. Torticollis is a condition where the neck muscles cause the head to twist or turn to one side, leading to pain, discomfort, and limited range of motion.
As soon as she got home from the hospital and was recommended to look into Tiffin Family Chiropractic. We were able to see her immediately, and she got her first gentle adjustment at just 3 days old.
After that first visit, mom & dad already noticed improvements in breastfeeding. Nursing was easier, and Carolyn seemed more comfortable! Over the next couple of weeks, her head movement improved as well.
When she was two months old, her pediatrician suggested she would most likely need to be fitted for a cranial helmet. But mom knew better! "My mom gut didn't agree with this, and I already knew we were in great hands with Dr. Adam. By continuing chiropractic care, we were able to avoid unnecessary interventions."
Today, Carolyn has made a full recovery. She never skipped a milestone, and you’d never guess she had torticollis as a baby. This is an INCREDIBLE outcome for little Carolyn & we are so pumped she got to avoid that cranial helmet!
High-five to mom & dad for continuing to advocate for her!
