Vita's Story: From Major Illness and Regression to Making Huge Strides

Sweet Vita had a stroke either in utero or right at birth that majorly impacted the function on the right side of her body. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy around 9 months old and was making progress sitting on her own with PT and OT. But around her first birthday, Vita got extremely sick and had to be rushed to the emergency room. She was so sick, Mom had to just hold her for 9 days. Recovering from this illness was so hard on Vita's body, and she started to regress, no longer able to sit on her own. Therapists told Mom and Dad that every time Vita had a growth spurt, she would regress, and her body would have to re-learn how to function.

Mom and Dad felt helpless and defeated. They tried any method they could think of to help Vita, including LifeWave patches and other chiropractic care, but they still weren't seeing the results they wanted for her. They remembered a friend's son also diagnosed with cerebral palsy had made progress at TFC, so they decided to give us a call and see if we could help.

After seeing her scans, they were hopeful! It made so much sense that Vita had stress stuck in her body after all she had been through.

Right away after starting her care, Vita made incredible progress. She was able to sit on her own, use her right hand, she was learning sign language and her sleep and digestion were great (no longer needing a BM chart!). Overall, Vita was so much happier too! As she has progressed into wellness care, Vita is now pulling to stand, talking more, and cruising along furniture. Even through several growth spurts, Vita has had no regression. She is all smiles in the office and loves the team, but especially loves Dr. Adam! This is a win in itself as she had been very uncertain about new people!
